5.17.08 - Graduation

Five years have come and gone. What a rush.

 

5.10.08 - Heintzelman

What a ride. During our final studio reviews, my American Academy of Beauty design was selected to represent our studio in the Heintzelman Forum, an annual competition to recognize "outstanding design achievement in the final semester of the professional architecture degree program." That was Wednesday, the forum was on Friday.

No rest for the wicked. Polished EVERYTHING, outlined my presentation, sweated. I think it went well.

I'll find out at graduation.

 

1.14.08 - The beginning of the end

My 10th and final semester has begun. My semester long studio/capstone project will be The American Academy of Beauty, a facility dedicated to the study of the idea and reality of beauty, to be located in Kansas City, KS. I've got some exciting looking seminars lined up as well: Deep Space [mapping], and digitalFAB.

1.11.08 - Vikevåg som en egen by

It appears that we've made the Norwegian news. This article, which I've yet to legibly translate, concerns the aforementioned project, Vikevåg 2.0b and features several of the images from the book which was sent to the municipal government of Vikevåg.

 

12.07.07 - Completed the semester long design of Vikevåg 2.0b.

This redesign of the town of Vikevåg, Norway [near Stavanger]. Envisioning the existing city of 1,500 inhabitants climbing to 10,000 in 30 years. The project focused on maintaing the natural landscape which drives the city's growth, and reinforcing the city's identity through its industries and the connection to the water and the land which shaped it. This represents the work of all thirteen members of the studio.
